Dcsa interview advice or insight

Update:

I was informed via USA jobs that I was NOT selected last month.

Fast forward to last week:

“Are you still interested?” And “We’d like to contact your current supervisor.”

Has anyone experienced anything like this before?

Color me perplexed.

Not for this position but I have had similar experiences with USA jobs. I have actually had the reverse happen where I received a response that I was moving along in the process, only to later to receive an email stating this was a mistake and I was actually discontinued. That has happened to me twice! Talk about disheartening. Bottom line is, don’t always trust those boiler plate USA jobs emails.

There could be some applicants who were offered positions but declined for whatever reasons and now they have to continue to offer positions to those next in the cue. Good Luck.

Crazy Town… ok. Thanks!

Haven’t even thought of that. Thanks for the insight.

Kinda, I am going to be in Northern Virginia but due to my location now; I wouldn’t be surprised if I am oriented within the NCR as well.

Ok, still waiting to hear results from the interview. If selected areas same for me probably. I’m thinking DC and a few counties of Maryland .

Update:

A current and former supervisor have been contacted about 3 days apart.

Any idea what I should be expecting next?

I would imagine an offer, but obviously one never knows. Good luck!

Waiting. It’s the common denominator.

Yeah, exactly… who knows.

Thank you, I’m gonna need it.

Reference checks are a good sign. Your still in the race.

After my reference checks were done, about a week later I got my offer.

How many references did they check for your?

I had two so far.

Two, we’re actually contacted. They asked for three.

Ok….

The wait begins.

Quick note. Local office will check references. The tentative offer will come from HCMO (HR) and they move slower than the local office.

Ok… I see. That’s a little more clear.

Thank you! :+1:t5:

Just to keep this thread alive and a good source of what I have experienced; here is a little more information. As I see it a few of us are going through the final steps to that holy grail adventure; “Formal Offer”. I did my UDS (Urine Drug Screen) and per my HR representative; who is awesome, the test results take an average of 3 weeks! So, when you get to that point just take a deep breath and know it might take a little while for that. Good Luck Trey3.

August May be a rough month of waiting — as I’ve been told a lot of people take vacation during this time — as with most places. So I have that to contend with now…lol.

But it’s good to know what to expect when you get to certain steps/phases.

Thanks again… I’ll definitely keep the tread updated my progress!
