DCSA work picking up?

So it looks like CACI is now hiring full-time Investigators for DHS work. It almost seems like DCSA work is going away :frowning: .

DCSA work is going away? It’s certainly decreased and not as much quantity is available. But it’s not going away. There will always be DCSA work.

Thats what the folks at USIS always said…

Well there was always plenty of work at USIS from OPM during the time I was with them. The problem with USIS (I am a former employee), is they were “dumping” cases and were directed to do so by senior management. So they were basically defrauding the federal government by not reviewing the case work per contractual requirements in order to make more money and spend less time reviewing case work. I’m still wondering who gave that mandate to the review staff at USIS? Bill Mixon, Chris Tillery, or Johnny Tharp or were the three musketeers all involved here in this conspiracy and fraud? None of them served jail time nor were fined or debarred from government service and if it weren’t for Blake Percival (whistleblower), who knows how much longer USIS would have continued to defraud OPM. Mixon, Tillery, and Thorpe have all went on to be CEO’s and Presidents, and V.P.’s at other companies. Nobody held them responsible for their fraud. 2,500 Investigators lost their jobs and had to go find a place at CACI or KGS at the time or leave the industry altogether. Meanwhile, the only ones that really came out ahead on this was Blake Percival’s millions he received as the whistleblower (he deserved it after being fired from USIS for not going along with the dumping of cases and then having to sleep on the floor of his in-laws living room partitioned by a sheet to raise his family for close to a year while he was unemployed) and Nixon, Tillery, and Tharp just kept moving down the tracks with their senior level jobs at other companies.

Never forget meeting Mixon at USIS H.Q. He was a real piece of work. Reminded me of a greasy and dishonest politician.

I am also a USIS survivor, was with them when it all went down.

My point was, that they were all so full of themselves that they never thought the contract would be ripped away from them.

There are no guarantees…that DSCA won’t federalize the work and get rid of contractors completely (not likely, but could happen) or that with the new Trusted Workforce that the volume of the work will decrease to a point that thousands of investigators are no longer needed. Combine that all with the introduction of video interviews being accepted, and the decrease in federal hiring…well, nothing is for certain.

You are correct. The investigators paid the price for the arrogance of the folks at the top. I know many of them, and it was a crap show the way it was handled.

Work must be picking up as CACI just posted for multiple investigator positions in multiple cities through the country on LinkedIn

DHS has tripled their funding for new hires. All the other agencies are slowing their hiring. They don’t have the incredibly ridiculous increase in funding that DHS/ CBP/ICE has had.

Millions and millions of taxpayer dollars that could be used to pursue US violent criminals but instead are being directed toward DHS to pursue/apprehend individuals who are mostly non violent civil offenders. The 2026 ICE budget alonge this year, which is only a portion of DHS, is nearly the same as the entire DOJ budget, to include FBI.

Anyone have any insight on ADC’s workload? Being told by someone there it’s going full-throttle, while 1Force struggled to get a TESI for a checkride.

That’s insane. Idk how people support that.

ADC promised tons of work and it’s literally little to nothing on the DHS side.

So the work is slow at 1Force as well? I was literally contacted to do a full day check ride.

Those exist? Yeah, work is supposed to pick up in “several more months,” per an email from the CEO. Then there’s the buzzwords: leverage, new opportunities, optimistic.

Good gig for the independently wealthy looking for a hobby, I guess.

I wonder why these places are actively hiring suddenly

Does anyone have any insight on CACI and CANDA hiring full time for DCSA? I noticed Peraton does not have any full time positions posted.

CANDA is hiring. Work is picking up but we have a 10 day turnaround now which is absurd. It’s a grind. They expect us to keep asking for more work instead of the CAC assigning as normal. All remote with the exception of a few IP attempts. I miss being in the field.

DHS is like two days on most stuff. It’s absurd.

Two days turnaround to transmit work???

Yep. Brand new full cases have a 7 day ACD and then any newly added or developed items have a 2 day ACD.

Wow. This industry has changed a lot. Working everyone like dogs.
