I am hearing that Peraton and CACI DCSA work is gradually increasing. Does this mean it’s going to be back to normal levels as once before? I truly believe that will never be the case. It certainly appears the DHS work is here to stay at least through this current administration. That’s probably the only reliable agency currently to find consistent work for the next year or two. The problem is that the DHS work is spread between various vendors so as a CI you have to have more than one DHS relationship with multiple vendors.
I really hope so. I’d surrender my DHS creds forever.
Don’t like working the DHS contract?
I despise it actually.
How can DHS be any worse than DCSA?
I actually really like the current workload, they aren’t over assigning cases now. It’s the perfect balance for me.
All the other contracts are better than DCSA imo.
Yes, the work has definitely picked up for DCSA. I’ve been getting cases daily this past week.
The paperwork is redundant, the over-reporting requirements are ridiculous, and the applicants are laughably bad with every issue under the sun.
You full time or 1099?
DCSA isn’t that great right now either with primes “scrubbing” the cases sending trash to subs.
Im 1099 at the moment
I switched to Paragon and I’m having no issues thus far. Got an email this week saying work is expected to increase. The gov budget stuff is taken care of now so hopefully it shouldn’t only be up from here
Same. Still waiting on both vendors to have literally any work.
I’m still waiting for the “premier” sub for Peraton to have any work besides a source or a record here or there.
If premier means no work, then yes we’re premier. I hope this company now realizes that premier only means something to them and apparently not to the prime who clearly doesn’t have their back in being premier in receiving work. I love saying the word premier though because it makes me feel special, even if it’s air castle I still feel special.
I’m not sure my conscience, character, conduct, ethics, or integrity would allow me to work on DHS right now.
I’ve had these same feelings and inner turmoil, but someone needs to vet them so it might as well be someone with morals.
As long as we keep doing the investigations and vetting, the applicants will still be getting the jobs. I don’t think the “vetting” is anything but a “cursory review” at this point.
Totally agree.
