DCSA work picking up?

I’m seeing barely anything with Omni. It appears the workload is based on location.

I’m a full time employee with PERATON and I’ve noticed the workload is starting to pick up more over the last couple weeks…although I really hope it doesn’t go back to over assigning work, I really have had a nice balance the last few months.

I see Canda is hiring investigators, anyone working there know if they have work right now? Is it a good place to work? One of the few contractors I’ve never had the pleasure of signing my paycheck.

I’m told they are hiring for particular locations and have a one week turn around for work. They also hammer down on Investigators when it comes to metrics!

Subcontractors and even prime’s keeping track of IC’s metrics and holding their feet to the fire in regards to providing them a work load based upon those metrics is abominable.

As long as an Investigator submits any refiles and corrections within two to three business days, why do the vendors even care? All that matters is that the case meets quality standards. I’ve learned over the years it’s all about command and control with the vendors. Now with everything being done virtually and by phone, the vendors basically own the Investigators as Investigators cannot demand premiums for travel to interview people in person nor can Investigators receive local work. I can’t get my hands upon the local case work that I know how to work most efficiently in my local area. Instead, I only receive work out of my state as a CI. That makes things less efficient. Subjects and Sources are less inclined to answer a phone number from an out of state caller. Understanding how to obtain records from local record providers and having built in relationships used to give us an advantage. Now we don’t even get out hands on local DCSA work. It’s a total crap show.

Industry has gone to hell in a hand basket.

They care about metrics and rz’s because good stats are used by primes at the rebid. Stats for every vendor under the prime (even IC’s) are included in the primes overall grade.

You are referring to customer reopens. That is the only stat that would seem to matter on rebids. I can’t imagine that Peraton and CACI’s internal reopens on their Investigators are tracked by DCSA on a rebid. The only reopen that would seem to matter to me is if DCSA reopens the case after it’s been submitted to the agency as the final product.

in the grand scheme of things it shouldn’t matter how many times the case was reopened initially by the vendor before going to the customer. Oh yeah I know what they say…”first pass quality”; “we require metrics on our Investigators so we save less time on the back end and in the review process and that means more money in our pockets”; “we have to judge our Investigators by some type of metric”, etc.

Ultimately, the only metric that matters is the overall quality and thoroughness of the case that is ultimately delivered to the customer which is becoming increasingly difficult with seven day due dates. Like I said the industry isn’t even recognizable at this time. What happened to a 14 day due date? It’s almost impossible to maintain any type of case volume and have other vendor relationships and work other non DCSA contracts when you have to turn around cases so quickly on the DCSA work. DCSA has become too demanding and burdensome. It’s absolutely an untenable situation for IC’s that want to work multiple contracts for various vendors and federal agencies.

??? Deleted?? Did you have something you wanted to say?

They care because better productivity means more profit per manhour. It’s simple business math. The more efficient a FI is, to include getting it right the first time, the more profit the vendor makes. It’s just that simple.

I think it’s just crazy how efficient they want you to be with quality. When I started over 10 years ago, 80% first pass quality was considered very good. If you have that now then you will be put on a PIP

Same. I didn’t say I like or agree with it, but I see their motivation. One vendor just sent out kudos for “increased output with reduced headcount”. After the stress on the field since September I think the more appropriate audience for this remark would be the shareholders rather than the remaining employees who watched their teammates attrit after being starved out of work.

Pathetic and clown comment.

nothing of substance to add. Just this:

Most reopens are Subjective, what the Reviewer wants not what’s required. They deviate from the issue resolution guide constantly.

This 10 day ACD is total crap.

Work is assigned late Thursday or Friday giving us 5 business days to work the case.

Nothing like rushing case work that impacts national security.

It’s even shorter on DHS. I am so over it. We’re turning in crappy work and something bad is going to happen eventually.

Unrealistic ACD’s have always meant that nobody really cares about quality or “real” investigations. National security is now clearly at the bottom of the list of importance. It’s just about checking the boxes that you have worked the item enough to get it done or write it off and CYA.

PLenty of bad things have already happened but DHS doesn’t care and the contractor’s most certainly don’t care. It’s just about the “appearance” of doing work/checking boxes.
