Question: I had a TS, but in my present position, it no longer required a TS but just a Public Trust. I want to apply for a job requiring a secret, but I presently do not have one, would it be hard to get an interim clearance and apply for those jobs that require them now?
You cannot get a clearance for the sole reason to apply for jobs that require it. You would need some company or agency to sponsor the request. In order for that to happen, you have to be in or selected/hired for a position that requires the clearance,
