A coworker of mine is applying for a job that I just got hired for which requires a top secret clearance. The current position he is working requires a public trust clearance which is currently still being done. Now if he gets offered this new job it requires a top secret but will they have to cancel the public trust process to begin the secret? Both jobs are for the same government contractor but each are for different government agencies.
