FJO received from an intel agency, EOD set... should I reject?

Hi everyone,

Here’s my situation. I have a current stable job in local government. Waited nearly two years for security clearance and FJO from an intel agency. My role is in management and in STEM (cyber tech) jobs category. My question is, what’s the fate of intel agencies in general given what Elon Musk and DOGE is trying to do? The way things are going, it doesn’t look like a safe move. I was really looking forward to it. I can risk it and go for it to see how things pan out. Probation is two years and many things can change. How valuable are TS clearance, despite of employment duration? I’d hate starting there only to be let go after few months not because of performance but simply because of employment status?

Good question and one that I’m sure a lot of people are asking right now.

If you have cyber skills and experience you probably have a lot of other options I would think.

It’s very up in the air. Seems like for now, if it is national security, law enforcement or public safety, you’re probably ok. Any other, especially civil services, you may have problems. Best bet right now, if you have legit skills and background, go for contractor.

Don’t know how long those exemptions will last, but at least for now,

If you have a stable job, I would not leave it to go to a very unstable job… You have another 3 years and 0 months of this possibly… Not worth the worry.
