Foreign Relatives - Interim Secret

Hi all,

I accepted my first position which will require an interim Secret clearance. I am the only American-born individual in my immediate family. However, my parents and half-siblings are all U.S. citizens.

The problem is I have two full siblings both born in the Philippines. One has both Philippine and South Korean citizenship. I only met these siblings once when I visited the Philippines about 16 years ago. I do not maintain contact with them and only know of their activities through my mother. The only occasional contact I’ve had with them that I can think of (less than five times my entire life) has been Facebook wall posts saying ‘Happy birthday’.

I was wondering how this could affect my odds of receiving an interim Secret as my job is contingent on it. Thanks!

They are from USA friendly countries, this will have no impact.
