So my SF86 was submitted to the DCSA on September 21st by a DOD contractor company. I still have not heard anything about interim and I know they are usually given out within 2 weeks. I even checked my credit report to see if there were any soft inquires (as I know the DCSA will do a credit check at the start of a investigation) but as of today there are still none. Does this timeline seem long to anyone? Also does it take a while for the DCSA to even initiate once your SF86 package is submitted? I know alot of DOD contractors are hiring alot of people right now and am curious if maybe that had any impact on timelines right now.
Remember you are at the end of the fiscal year right now.
A few weeks without news is not unusual, especially around the end of the fiscal year when volume is high. Keep in mind there are separate steps: your company submits the package, DCSA reviews it for completeness and accepts it, and the interim determination comes after initial automated checks. A package returned for missing or inconsistent information is a common cause of delay, so it is worth asking your FSO whether the SF-86 was accepted or sent back for corrections. Your FSO can also see the case status in the system and tell you whether an interim has been granted or declined. In the meantime, keep your contact information current and respond quickly to any request to correct or add information.
