New Contract Background Investigator - Couple of Questions

Hi Everyone,

I just recently retired after 30+ years in public safety and decided to enter the background investigator field. I was just advised that my own background investigation is in “favorable status” and have been assigned to five weeks of training followed by two weeks of field training. Will I eventually get any type of documentation stating what type of clearance that I am eventually granted? Does this mean that my investigation has not been fully completed at this time? Thank you.

You will likely not receive an actual clearance unless there is a need for you to have one. Sounds like you were favorably adjudicated and your investigation is complete, but you are working on a contract that does not require one. Basically all the electrical wires have been laid, but you don’t have a clearance unless someone flips the light switch.

Thank you for that clarification.
