I had a question of Initial security clearance with NSA.After the successful polygraph test, if the candidate’s clearance status is in the first level of adjudication and the program/contract of the prime sponsoring the clearance ends with the customer, what happens to the candidate’s process? Can the same company rekey the clearance to another program or can the candidate look for another company to pick up the clearance from where it is currently in adjudication. Any timeline on how long the adjudication will complete. It has been 8 months since poly was taken. Any information is appreciated.
Once the sponsoring is over, the process ends. Another company of same company can then pick it up for another contract. Not sure what you mean by first level of adjudication. There is only one level.
This is an NSA thing, they do their own and do it their own way 
Any more insight on this would please help. Should the candidate wait until the current sponsor’s contract has ended and then find a new company sponsor to pick up the clearance from first level adjudication? OR just switch the company right now while the sponsorship is active?
If you (oops I mean ‘the candidate’) can hang on that’s probably the best option with the least potential downside.
Do you know for a fact that the contract is ending? There may be an extension as these government program offices are notorious for not getting everything in place by the deadline and it is often very easy to extend an existing contract.
