I was failed on PAR, how do I know the reason of the failure?
It is quite possible it has nothing to do with you, maybe someone just decided you did not have the “need to know.” Some of these programs requiring a PAR can be quite problematic.

Are there many software engineer job at NG, Lockheed… that do not need PAR?
Well first I should make it clear that I do not have any personal experience with the Program Access Request (PAR), just what others have experienced. I’d say this is not something most people ever encounter, but in some groups (depending on contracts and customers) nearly all jobs will require it.
There are many many software jobs that don’t require a clearance at all! This makes it challenging for defense contractors to attract and retain talent in this field.
