I have 2 contingent offers from 2 contracting companies. Both are good with decent pay with ofcourse one paying more. Can I have public trust initiated from both companies and leave the lower pay one once anjudicated on investigation.
I had public trust until about July 2024.
One is an fulltime W2 engineer and other is also W2 for few hours for few hours. Can I keep both contracts ?
In most cases when the second investigation is initiated, the system will see that an investigation is already open and wait for that to complete. What I don’t know is what happens if the second investigation is a higher “tier” and won’t be satisfied by the first one.
As for working two jobs, check to see if either company has restrictions on outside employment.
By the way, the “tier” is determined by the level of public trust. Some require no more than an agency check with no investigation, while others require the same investigation as a secret clearance. This may be changing so I defer to any of the investigators who share good info with us on this forum.
Also, Can I join both contingent offers and quit the second one in few months. As both are contingent offers can I initiate Public Trust on both contracts. I just don’t want to loose the lower pay one just in case I on’t like the higher pay job work.
I’m sure you can accept both offers and go with the one that comes through first. Some people have started with one company and quit soon after when the job they really wanted came through. Its up to you.
Thank you. But looks like both are going to give EOD and give access. I will observe for 2-3 months and quit one. I will keep which ever work i like I hope I like the higher pay one.
Can I hold 2 PIV cards for these different departments while I evaluate which one to quit ?
I think that would be a non-starter unless one was DoD and the other was some other agency that would not be tied into DEERS and wouldn’t see your DoD ID card.
