I am having some concerns as of late with my secret clearance getting adjudicated. I had everything completed towards the end of 2023, with it now almost coming up on a year and a half since all the interviews finished. I have already been working for over half a year on my temporary security clearance, but with the adjudication taking this long I have some concerns about working in jobs that require a security clearance as a career path.
The only reason I believe it is taking this long is it either got lost, but I doubt as I’ve been in contact with my security personnel person or my foreign connections are the impact. I keep hearing as long as you report everything and stay open about those connections then it’s okay, but I don’t feel like that is the case at this point. I have reported all of them and been questioned extensively during my initial interview about them, especially one which isn’t exactly friendly with the U.S.. I am just looking for a gauge or advice, when it comes to foreign connections and maybe traveling to meet with them, what are the red flags and things that would make you recommend I don’t stay working in jobs with security clearance requirements?
