I have a question about reciprocity within a security clearance. I currently have a public trust with ATF. I filled out a packet going back 7 years with equip. I recently applied with the secret service and I will need a top secret clearance. Will any of my current clearance transfer over?
no. The public trust from 7 years ago would not be applicable to any national security position. The good news is it sounds like you have had the same employer/location for the last seven years. The will reduce some of the work for the Secret Service.
I’m sorry, what I meant is that they went back 7 years for the public trust. However, I have only had the clearance for 6 months. But it sounds like it won’t apply either way.
Some law checks might apply but after six months all of your current activities need to be reviewed again.
