I had a Top Secret Security Clearance (Closed 2012 06 01, Adjudicated 2012 06 11) with a prior employer. Moved, due to a Military PCS, and was debriefed in 2013 Jun 23. Fastforward, I have now had a break in service for approximately 20 months. A new company tried to reinstate my TS but mentioned that my clearance was “expired” and “terminated from the [JPAS] system”. Currently, they’ve submitted an RRU to DoDCAF to try and find out what my status is. My question at this point is, why wasn’t my TS easily restored if the 2 year lapse period wasn’t met yet? My investigation should still be in scope and I haven’t had my clearance revoked.
