Tier 1 with Childcare Check Concerns

In 2002 I pleaded guilty to having not having an operator’s license. I received a fine of about $100, which I paid that week. I have discovered this week that the Clerk of Court has a civil bond forfeiture on record for me from an earlier court date for that offense ( I honestly don’t remember - lots going on, and I was young). There is currently a balance due of about $1500 ($500 originally, the rest is interest). I immediately contacted an attorney and they are investigating this issue and have also been in contact with the Clerk of Court in clearing up/finalizing this matter. During the early 2000 years, I was driving back and forth out of state to help care of my father, who was terminally ill due to a service connected disability. The court date that was missed was immediately after the death of my dad. I, again, am trying to be accountable for this civil matter and am in talks with the assigning County Clerk of Court in order to close this matter.

I have a TJO that requires a Tier 1 with childcare check - am I crap out of luck due to this old issue that I am trying to work through, or is there some light at the end of the tunnel? This job would be an absolute game changer for my family and I, and to say that I have worked my butt off for this opportunity is an understatement. Thanks for any insight.
