TS Adjudicated -- SCI still in adjudication?

I was recently adjudicated favorably for a Top Secret clearance (Tier 5 investigation). However, I was recently told that my SCI is still pending adjudication. Is it rare that TS would be favorably adjudicated before SCI? I feel like I usually hear cases of the adjudication being bundled together.

Depends. My SCI came in about three weeks after favorable adjudication of my TS. That’s normal. How long have you been waiting?

@throwaway5445 I was adjudicated for TS in mid December, so not that much time considering holidays and snow days factored in

Apparently adjudicators are still working remotely during the snow days

Not at all. In fact a few years ago my company was trying to see which path was faster, submitting first for the TS and then for SCI, or submitting for the SCI directly. It turned out to be a bit of a crap shoot.

If the adjudicators work on site (as the ones I know do) and the site is shut down (as they were yesterday and Monday) then no, adjudicators are not working. I do not know of adjudicators working remotely, but that is a possibility.

Gotcha. Well hopefully it won’t take much longer as I would assume they’re using all of the information collected for the TS for the SCI and it’s the same agency making the eligibility determination

True but it has to start all over again at the back of the line
