Was never asked for fingerprints?

I’m in the clearance process with the DoD. I was never asked to provide fingerprints and neither was a friend of mine who is in the same process. Will these be asked for at a later stage? I submitted my SF86 in February and was interviewed in April, and my friend back in December.

@intelforintel - In my experience, fingerprints should be taken before you complete the SF-86.

New fingerprint submissions are not required for SF-86 investigations if you have had a clearance investigation where you had previously submitted them. They use the ones already on file to run the criminal history checks.

Interesting, I’ve always been fingerprinted again for reinvestigations. I suppose each agency does things differently.
