Worried about Secret clearance

Hello all,

I’m a bit worried because I have an interview for a position and it requires a secret clearance if hired. I am a U.S. citizen, my wife was on DACA status here since she’s been here which was 2001 and she has had an EAD and followed all immigration laws. She is also in the middle of getting her green card application approved.

Here is my concern. My wife’s parents however are illegal here. Will my wife’s parents disqualify me from getting the clearance?

You will be asked some additional questions such as whether you helped them enter/stay illegally, if you work for an agency that handles immigration/border crossings, whether this will affect your ability to do your job correctly, etc. Not usually a disqualifier although it depends on the position/agency.
