The lack of info and silence is textbook for companies either in serious trouble or undergoing a major reorganization that could result ugly consequences for work staff. The disclosure of that info would likely cause a mass exodus, leaving companies to scramble for warm bodies needed to bid on other contracts or maintain the current ones. I expect this is why companies also over-hire or continually advertise for job openings when no real work exists
Exactly, this is why so many of the companies reap the benefits of having contractors (Skeleton Employees) to use our data to demonstrate they have retained our services which makes these companies relevant for bids they may or may not manifest.
Wild, Wild idea/guess. Primes restructuring to make everyone 1099. The reason I say that is the current full-time model is absolutely, 10000%, unsustainable.
I’m wondering if it’s possible for a class action lawsuit against the primes alot of folks were brought on as 1099s under the false pretense work was abundant and available yet that has proved to be misleading and distracting.
I switched to a 1099 after I was told by the recruiter guy that not only was work abundant but with the contract requirement for 30% of all work to go to 1099’s it seemed a good choice. Obviously the 30% contract requirement is no longer being followed.
It could depend on the area, but Peraton furloughed a significant number of W2 investigators back in December. Its worth a shot, in my opinion, assuming you are experienced and credentialed.
And won’t be for months, according to the 1Force CEO. Paragon doesn’t communicate the situation, like at all, but they’ve given me work. You know. To supplement my totally unrelated new full-time job.
They have communicated. They’re actually the only vendor that I know and have spoken to that is actually transparent and honest about what is going on. If you are not getting the info you need, perhaps reach out to your leadership.
