@Desk… you’re not the only one whom doesn’t understand. But I’m off today… so research will be done…lol.
My position was listed as Mission Support, so it was pretty clear to me that I wouldn’t be expedited. I think my luck comes from the amount of retirees they are expecting in the next year.
@Batdog123… any (new) movement?
No. I talked to them last week… They seem to be seven shades of confused with my case. Asked for a status update, preferably a phone call. Got emailed back. They were talking about when I graduate with my degree(not until May 2020), and about relocating… I’m like…I’m not relocating, you guys know that, lol. It was also several people responding to my email thread, so I am sure their confusion was there also. Wasn’t reassuring, but I will be just sitting back and leaving them alone until I hear something. Then I will figure out whatever they are confused on, lol.
I do plan on attending the IC Virtual Career Fair on September 4th. Be able to see if there are any other positions I qualify for and keep applying to those. Last year I was able to snag the lead hiring managers email and I believe that is why I got the CJO so quickly. I found the whole thing beneficial. They aren’t able to do much about current processing though, so they wouldn’t be able to answer why you haven’t had your BI yet or not.
@Batdog123… hey, something is better than nothing.
Don’t they know you’re only like an hour away?
I’ve heard about the fair. That’s good due diligence on your part — good luck!
@Batdog123 how do I find out more information about this fair?
I think they automatically offer relocation incentives when you live more than 50 miles away. I was offered them too, though you’re not required to take them.
For me it was “we will reimburse you if you move!” (Though, the reimbursement is taxed to hell and back)
@Porgy… how far along are you in the process?
Complete, not gonna say when my EOD is (or was) exactly, but I got through the process completely.
@Porgy… understandable.
If I didn’t congratulate you yet… congratulations!!!
You can just google 2019 IC Virtual Career Fair and it should come up. I believe there is also a link to it somewhere on their webpage.
@Porgy, yeah that is what I was wondering, but they didnt mention any incentives. Just that if I had to relocate, I couldn’t start within the 30day window, it would have to be 60 days. Oh well. I’ll figure it out when the time comes… If the time comes, lol.
Yeah, relocation is calculated through submitting a form that you get once you get your FJO. It’s handled by another department and the total amount you’re eligible for depends on a number of factors that they calculate from what you provide on the form.
I’m sure if you tell your recruiter once you get your FJO, “I do not plan to relocate, may I have an earlier start date?”, they’ll happily oblige, though!
I ended up not taking the incentive because I want to see if I actually like working there during my probation period before I uproot my family, so. I plan to just suck it up and commute everyday unless I can get a vanpool.
@Porgy, May I ask how long your process was… from start to finish?
@Trey3 anything new on your end yet?
@Rkf4ever… nope, I’m taking the advice of everyone I’ve asked (or annoyed…lol)…, and just gonna wait and see what happens going forward. I might reach out to my recruiter in September. I don’t really know what else to do.
What about you?
Sure,
From submitting the application to FJO: 10.5 months
From interview to FJO: 9 months
I reached out last week since I had hit the 4 months mark and that was the minimum time frame my recruiter gave to me way back when. The response I got was pretty much I’m still active with security, and they are finishing up final parts of their processing, when a decision has been made, a recruiter will contact me. So the same response as always for the most part.
@Rkf4ever… And this is you in adjudication, correct?
Nope I don’t think I’m there yet, especially since they keep saying I am still active with security. Security is part of the suitability phase they keep reminding me lol
@Rkf4ever… oh yeah. Duh. And how long has it been for you again?
