Just to clarify, you are currently working in a job that you had to submit an SF-85 for.
If that is the case, then at least it accepted the form. Sometimes the e-QIP system will not accept an incomplete form, so it sounds like you at least got past that.
Yes you should be able to explain this to the investigator if it comes to that. But I suspect that if this all took place nearly a decade ago, it might not relevant for a public trust investigation.
