Just saw that all of these were Denied. Wow!
@Snowball “all of these” = one pre-award protest. It was only one. Additional documentation provided in support of the protest triggered additional entries within the GAO system/website.
Has there been any official announcement of the DCSA investigative contract award yet? Anyone have any scoop?
We (Peraton) received an email Wednesday before thanksgiving that we had received an intent to award from DCSA and also had a town hall Tuesday that we had received it.
CACI was just notified they have been awarded one of the DCSA contracts. On the downside, we were also all just asked to take 5 days off this month due to there costs being off and workload being current.
I’m assuming you’re an FI for CACI? I’m in review and haven’t received any notification being asked to take days off. Wonder if they’ll fill us in on that information at some point.
What do you mean take days off? Investigations have mandatory over time?
I stand corrected. Just got the email.
Open a new unemployment claim. Even though you won’t receive any money because the first week is a waiting period, it will set you up so that every time they pull mandatory days off or reduced hours you can collect unemployment on an ACTIVE claim with no 1 week waiting period. When you have full time hours you just don’t certify those weeks even though you’ll receive notices that you need to certify you can ignore them. If a company has to pay unemployment benefits to 500 people every time they pull this **** they’ll think twice about it.
I am in review also.
I’m sure after we are forced to take these days off, in the new year review will be on mandatory OT too.
How can your employer force you to use up your earned time off when you are ready and willing to work? That sounds totally wrong and unethical and perhaps illegal. What are the repercussions if you don’t take it? In a tight labor market where employees are hard to find, they are forcing employees to use up PTO even if they are ready and willing to work? Sounds like a good way to scare off good employees and perhaps an unethical accounting practice in an effort to manipulate the 4th quarter earnings statements and stock prices.
Every state has different rules for unemployment claims. Your scenario may not work in every state.
“Your scenario may not work in every state.”
Which states don’t allow partial unemployment claims?
I am confused why review is being asked to take off but FI are encouraged to work OT every week?
All states allow some sort of partial unemployment. However, all states have different ways of calculating partial unemployment and even waiting periods. In my state, you have to wait two weeks to file. Based on the calculations I have seen, trying to claim partial unemployment is a pain and not worth it. What CACI is doing does not surprise me. It’s all about money with CACI.
That’s a very good question. I’m also wondering that. I don’t have 40 hours of time bank, so I’m waiting to hear what they are going to do for those that do not have the time accrued.
They mentioned they were looking into a leave without pay option for those who don’t have 40hrs of PTO to use. What a way to show there appreciation over the holidays!
In PA it is more of a hassle than what it’s worth. I tried to claim unemployment the last time they did this to us and was more less just harassed with paperwork by the unemployment office telling me to apply for other jobs. Then they wouldn’t even give me a dime because the one week was the week of Christmas which had a paid holiday and they said I made too much money to qualify because of that holiday pay.
I think its very unethical too but in where you are considered an at will employee, labor laws seem to all be in favor of the employer.
