I was thinking the same thing.

Yes. Keypoint then Perspecta now Perraton. Print out your last review with numbers people because Keyypoint asked for that to set salaries when usis went down and we jumped ship to them.last time.

Yes, Kroll, KeyPoint, Perspecta and now Peraton.

I forgot about Kroll…worked there too from 2006 to 2008. Too bad the name chgs never chgd the company. Gotta do what you gotta do.

As mentioned, I think that most of the Investigators that want to stay in this business will survive the move from 3 vendors to 2. With all of the people jumping to Fed, plus those that either decide to leave the field or don’t make the cut, the it won’t really affect Investigators. The reason that this is such a hot topic for CACI is that all of the layers of useless management will be cut if CACI isn’t one of the chosen two. Don’t need program managers, field managers, etc - as the surviving vendors have all of that in place. Those managers are non-productive expenses. Sure it is a pain to start at a new company - but, let’s face it - USIS, Altegrity, CSRA, GDIT, CACI, Kroll, Keypoint, Perspecta, Peraton, SCIS, Securitas, Paragon, etc…they are all the same.

On our all hands call, the big wigs from CACI stated they were confident they were going to be one of the two picked for the upcoming contract renewal. However, with the way they have been hammering us for overtime to the point of wanting us to work weekends, they obviously want to impress (aka kiss DCSA’s butt) as much as possible at this time. I personally do not enjoy being toyed with, as they will have no problems laying us off and/or firing us depending on their needs.

Yup. It’s all about making numbers look good before the rebid. I’m not at all convinced they have the huge backlog of work they are implying. And review has increased their absurdity to even higher levels lately, which is hard to do.

I was wondering about that! They refuse to be upfront about the number of investigators we have. I find it hard to believe they will be able to recruit new investigators as this job has gotten so complicated and ridiculous that most people would run for the hills rather than agree to do it.

Review is a whole other mess. They come up with the most absurd things to add on to do, which have nothing to do with adjudication or issue resolution. I’ve always said, it’s like they want us to write a thesis for a masters program for each case. The adjudicators must get so frustrated over all the unnecessary stuff they have to read.

I’m with Paragon and our higher ups are also confident in winning the rebid.

This is great - and the situation is hilarious. All 3 vendors say that they are going to get it. So, the strategy must now be to ā€œlow bidā€ it? Yeah, yeah, I know that the bid will tout performance, but it all really comes down to price. I am ready to switch to whomever wins if need be. I see that Paragon is recruiting independent contractors, too - trying to make the # of investigators ā€œavailableā€ more impressive in the bid?

Every time there is a contract rebid the same rumors float around the industry. I would update my resume, and go on linkin and friend some recruiters for each of the companies.

If (big if) the company you are working for loses the contract, within a hour of being told that your company has lost the contract I would apply to the companies who were awarded.

I would go on linkin and send my resume to the recruiters I had friended. I would go on indeed and look for Job listings from the companies that were awarded. I would apply to whatever one was closest to me. For example if I lived in Denver, and they did not have a Denver listing but they had one in Fort Collins then I would apply to the Fort Collins. I would then keep checking back to see if they have Denver job listings.

I would then go apply for unemployment, and do some soul-searching. Do you really want to stay in this industry as a contractor or a 1099? If your company loses the contract it may be a blessing in disguise.

I got this email address from a friend for submitting resumes to Peraton for Contractor positions only. I believe they post their full time positions on their website. Contractor.engagement@rdg.peraton.com.

I thought you already worked for Peraton as a recruiter or mgt?

Ha ha definitely not a recruiter. And don’t want all my eggs in one basket.

Good idea me either. I do welcome a short layoff for vacation if it happens.

My magic Google powers must be turned off - I can’t find any details about an RFP online, except for this listing ifno in a spreadsheet:

DCSA Tracking Number Requirement Requirements Description Anticipated NAICS Code Anticipated PSC Anticipated Solicitation/RFP Date Recompete or New Action Small Business Strategy DCSA Program Office POC Total Estimated Total Contract Value (inclusive of option(s)) DCSA AQ Contracting Office
DCSA-FY21-001 Background Investigations Fieldwork Services recompete Fieldwork Services 561611 R423 3rd QTR FY21 Recompete Full and Open BI: Robin Young Above $50M Personnel Vetting Contracting

If anyone has the link to the RFP, it would be good -thanks!
