You might be able to xfer the BI depending on the agencies. But it will not speed anything up. If anything, the xfer will probably make it take longer. If it’s the same type of clearance, tell company B you already have an active BI so they can just wait it out.
If company A is a higher clearance than company B, what will happen? Both are under the same DOD entity
Not 100% sure but I think you cannot have multiple BIs with the same agency at the same time.
There should be no issue if you are still contracting with an Agency where DCSA did your background investigation unless it is an administrative issue in the transfer. Going from a Tier 5 level position to a Tier 3 issue does not cause a new investigation if your investigation was conduct through DCSA.
