To preface, my mother has been a naturalized US citizen for more than a decade now and forfeited her Chinese citizenship. My mother travelled to China twice in the last two years in order to visit her parents and for some tourism. She had planned on visiting this year, but delayed it because of my clearance investigation. Three months into the process and she is floating the idea of visiting again this month, but she’s hesitant because she’s afraid it may effect the investigation. Will her previous two visits matter, and will her travelling during an investigation be a concern?
Reportable? I’ve never had to report it on collatoral clearances, but did have to under certain SCI agencies Foriegn influence/preference questionaires.
Concern? I can’t answer that
It’s your foreign grandparents residing in a foreign country that are reportable as foreign contacts and could become the issue.
