I am in process for an IC position and am looking for a new apartment. I found a potential apartment but I believe the landlord is a foreign national (of a non-adversarial country, FWIW). The landlord is in the US but would not live on the premises. I would obviously report the contact, but would this connection be likely to cause a problem? Would the investigator be willing/able to interview the landlord to confirm there were no issues with me as a tenant?
This should not present a problem as long you are not aware of any immigration issues on the part of the landlord. If, for example, you have valid reasons to believe that he is not here legally, you could have an issue.
