I am currently undergoing a background investigation to work as a BI contractor. What is the best way to get information on the status of the investigation/timeline. I have emailed the company that hired me and they are still waiting for the results from NBIB. It hasn’t been that long: eQuip accepted in mid Feb, interviewed by NBIB in late FEb and all of my contacts have been interviewed. Just waiting patiently/not so patiently…
You might try the FOIA line but honestly, NBIB treats contractor BIs as priority cases that are monitored internally. If your case is still pending, that means there is an open item waiting for a response. There is nothing you can do to speed up that process.
Thanks for the info. Just received an email that my investigation with NBIB/OPM is in a favorable status. Yay! Anyway, I start training in July. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.
