Living with Marijuana user

How does one navigate this issue? I understand not to partake in drug use, however it is around me. I do not purchase it, sell it, posses it knowingly. Maybe get into a car with it, or someone brings it into my car. I am just guessing for someone bringing it into my car. I do not pat people down before driving.

Any tips ? I know my living situation is not ideal but, for now there is nothing I can do and I do not want to ruin my clearance. Thanks.

You’re associating with a drug user.. So.. someone involved in criminal activity.

Entirely different issues.

The drug involvement itself may not be as much of an issue as the association with what are, essentially, criminals.

Here are a few articles I’ve written on the topic:

I would personally remove myself. Make it known that you don’t want to be around it and you should probably not get into a car with it knowingly. The Defense Office of Hearings and Appeals (DOHA) however, has indicated cases where an individual has successfully been able to maintain clearance eligibility while a spouse has needed to use marijuana to address cancer symptoms. So, it is a gray area, but hope this helps.

Removal from this living situation is not possible now.

I have talked about my dissatisfaction with drug use, to no avail. I really can’t do anything. I try to avoid it as much as I can but, sometimes this is impossible.
