Military vs. Civilian CE update

Many DoD Reserve Servicemembers need a Secret clearance for their military position but also work full-time in the IC (e.g., FBI, DIA), where they maintain a TS/SCI through their civilian agency, typically managed in Scattered Castles.

When it’s time to update their CV enrollment date in DISS on the military side, they often say their information was already updated through their civilian security office. However, since DISS and SC don’t interface, and the only apparent solution seems to be to submit another SF-86 through DCSA just to update DISS.

This creates duplicate work, on both the individual and the security offices, and reciprocity seems to apply only work initially after DCSA adjudicates the civilian investigation. 5 years later, they’re in the same situation again.

Is there any workaround for Reserve members with civilian jobs that primarily manage their higher level clearance to avoid submitting dual SF-86s, or is this just the reality of maintaining clearances across two separate systems?

Your FSO or Security Officer can send an email request to the DCSA VROC team to have them review the information from SC and input it into DISS. Sometimes it works, most times not!
