I was recently placed on the cleared candidate list for Meade. Obviously I can apply to other positions within the agency. But am I able to other DOD or contracting positions that I previously could not apply for?
I’m on the same list. I was told the clearance can only be used for NSA positions.
I’ve never heard of this. Any more details?
Does that mean that the job you applied for is no longer available or that you didn’t get the job?
On the CJO it mentions that they hire more people for the positions than they have available. They do this as they expect people to wash out in the clearance process, though I don’t know the exact washout statistics. If too many people get through then the job gets filled and people who are cleared get on the cleared candidate list.
I don’t know why they do this. There is another DoD agency where they will do the clearance process first and then you enter a hiring pool where you can apply for jobs as they open. It makes more sense to me this way, but every agency does things their own way.
I was told the job was no longer available.
