Hey all ! So I have a thread on here suspended without pay yep that’s me and Caci terminated me . However , I applied for 1099 work at Paragon and I have an interview this week . It will be interesting to see if DCSA will give me creds or if it was Caci that decided to cut me loose . And yes I realize Paragon is a sub for Caci but I would be under Paragon . Wish me luck and please offer any insight on IC for Paragon if you have any . Thanks !

CACI controls all of their subs. It will feel like your working for CACI.
I didn’t have an issue with Caci i had issues with the RM and SL .
Myself and many others that work for Paragon have hardly had any work since September. How and why in the world are they interviewing and bringing on more investigators at this time?! I understand we’re all 1099 contract investigators, so no harm no foul for them to have more of us, but I’m interested in what they’re possibly telling you what it’ll be like workload wise for when and if you do join the company. As many threads on here state, they tell us nothing other than the work will come back next month and then it’s the next month, and then it’s after the new year, etc., yet it’s STILL the slowest it’s ever been in this career field. Is the workload supposed to go back to the norm come January? I just don’t understand any of these companies right now..

CACI just had a new hire class graduate a couple weeks ago. The decision making is absurd.

Good question! I’m surprised they’re hiring. Maybe to boost their numbers with DCSA¹which used to dictate the amount off work a company received. More bodies more work allotment. Blowing up the numbers game..

The recruiter sent me the pay scale, the WTD chart and an FAQ plus the company description for IC . So I only have questions on amount of work expected . I just have to wait to see if DCSA will give me creds again , because i still have no idea if it was DCSA that kicked me off the contract or it was Caci saving face . I will post an update after my interview Thursday morning.

Is there any way to check to see of DCSA won’t issue me creds?
CACI has final approval on all hires, even those working for the subs. They may approve you, but if they deny your application they will not disclose to the sub the reason. You may be better off trying to get onboard with a Peraton sub.

Funny enough I applied to Peraton and Paragon reached out . Caci says I am ineligible for rehire which I am appealing at the moment . I was wrongfully terminated and not even given factual or supportive information on Violating Business codes of ethics. So I figure I’ll do the interview and go from there .
Peraton is not hiring at the moment, but some of their subs may be.
I’m guessing that CACI is gonna say no when Paragon submits you for approval, but I could be wrong. I don’t know how to specifically say this, but CACI has total control over who their subs hire. They can say “nope” and not give a reason, and the sub has no choice but to tell the applicant they are not moving forward.
That’s why I’m suggesting you try a Peraton sub…they will have no knowledge of what CACI thinks.
I was told that CACI was not and could not tell a sub who to hire or not hire . Guess there is one way to find out. Thank you for the information. I do apppreciate it .

I don’t understand why you were putting yourself through this. When most 1099 CI are not even getting enough work to sustain their livelihood. Full-time FI are barely getting enough work.

Well I am not going to be able to do anything for any Caci subs and at this point i have made the decision to get out of the business. I also heard DCSA was laying off a majority of their agents and that clearance paperwork was being run through an AI system an if there are no issues they clearance is granted and this is for all types to include SCI. Also heard issue codes are changing which is why there is a back log .
I spoke with a furloughed investigator from PERATON the other day and it sounds like some of furloughed investigators were permanently let go earlier this week.
Interesting. The interviewer told me to try for Preaton subs and specifically for DHS contract .
I work for PERATON and I know we have a ton of DHS work but they aren’t being clear on how it’s assigned because I’ve barely seen any. I think it’s primarily done via a group of remote investigators
The problem I have is I was not trained on DHS because I wasn’t on the contract .
