Hi everyone! Particular Individual here, hoping someone can shed some light as to what might be happening, because I am at a loss.
I am trying to get back in after some time away from cleared work. My FSO submitted a request to Reinstate my TS. My TS is pending adjudication for months, and all the sudden DCSA wants to do a reinvestigation, and emailed me the eApp link for an SF86. My last BI was completed in 2024. As far as I know, I am enrolled in the CE/Trust Workforce thing.
FSO has no grasp on what’s happening, why this is being requested, whether it makes any coherent sense, and how it impacts my adjudication timeline. She gives vague, deflective non-answers. Is this a full reinvestigation? Could be. Is it just a records update? Possibly. 
Is this normal? How can a clearance which is in the process of being adjudicated trigger a reinvestigation? Aren’t those done only for active, “eligible”-state clearances?
