Congratulations on getting cleared.

Unfortunately, the clearance is useless unless you receive a FJO.

Congrats and sorry at the same time

Veteran to veteranā€¦hang in there. Innocuous reasons remove people all the time. Get back on your horse. Ride! You were not deniedā€¦remember that.

Thank you for your message. For those on that list, you guys have just surpassed one more hurdle and are one more step closer. Your time is coming. Keep the faith.

Thanks yā€™all, I got the SAEE tomorrow for the USSS CAT plt. Hopefully that goes well, wish yā€™all luck.

Hi all. New to the chat. Former DIA employee who seperated 3 years ago to take a job in the private sector. Iā€™ve recently have experienced major FOMO and want to find a way back in to the IC, either as a govie or contractor. Question isā€¦Is my TS/SCI clearance still ā€œcurrent?ā€

Ivā€™e seen some conflicting things. I know in old days the clearance is only current for 2 years after the seperation. Ivā€™e also heard that, assuming your agency enrolled you in DNIā€™s new(er) CV/CE initiative, this old rule may not apply.

Any insight grealy appreciated!

My security office was still telling me two years and I am enrolled in CE. I do think it would be easier to get a clearance again, but you never know until you try. Just state when you last held your clearance on your resume.

Dear Major Fomo,

I think @ObviousThrowaway nailed it. Just wanted to add (at the risk of stating the obvious) that if you do want to go back to DIA youā€™d be an outside applicant again. Anything on their careers site? I think they are part of the IC careers page now.

Thanks. Have a contracting company running down an exact answer. Fingers crossed something in the system tells them Iā€™m good to go without another full investigation/poly. However, if my fear is correct and itā€™s null and void, it looks like my next goal ought to be (as @sbusquirrel suggests) to lock in a slot at one of DIAā€™s vaunted hiring events.

@RandomMan how was the process for VA compared to MD? Might apply lol

haha, quicker no doubt! And they actually schedule you for a 2nd poly the next day, instead of waiting weeks/months for another appointment slot. I was really impressed with the logistics of the entire process.

I have pocā€™s who I can actually call and talk to on the phone. I say give it a shot, submit a statement of interest for up to 4 or 5 jobs I think it is. And hope they contact you for a phone screening and go from there.

I still havenā€™t heard from Maryland, no idea what those jokers are up to.

How were the interviews compared to MD hireview lol

It was basically one real interview (not counting hr screening call), was done remotely and had 2 people interviewing me. Real chill, honestly. Way better than that hirevue crap. I hated recorded my responses and talking to myself. They also had some sort of weird IQ/aptitude test I had to take. Wasnā€™t hard, just stressful.

Huh. Interesting. My MD experience was different from the norm it appears. My interview was with a real person and my 2nd poly was also scheduled next day. Thankful for this as a long distance candidate.

I had applied to this agency awhile back, but submitted my stuff and nothing ever came of it. However, I did get scheduled for a poly the next day at the MD place.

Yā€™all had second polys? Did you not pass on your first ones? Iā€™ve had radio silence from MD since my poly & psych in early Aug.

I had to wait like 4 weeks between my first and second in MD. Funny how everyone can have drastically different experiences.

Nope, didnā€™t pass 1st one. Most people dont from what I have seen. Were you told you passed on the first attempt?

yeah for me, my guy the first day eventually told me i had to come back and was like ā€œi strongly recommend you come tomorrow if you want to continue processingā€
