I turned down a position in June but in September an investigator called me for an interview. I did the interview. What happens to this information? I accepted another position a couple of days ago in a new department. Will my other SF-85/86 and previous interview just be forwarded to the new department or will I need to go through the process again?

Dont have an answer to your question but I wanted to thank you for reporting your experience. This topic comes up from time to time, and in this case we see that even though the investigation should have been stopped, and in fact somebody may have clicked a button to try to make that happen, apparently it continued, at least to the point of starting the in-person investigations.
