Wait Time After Background Investigation is Complete?

I am in the process for a TS SCI clearance and the background investigator completed their investigation and sent my case file for adjudication on 10/20/2017. I contacted my agency and they said that my file is still “pending” and could give me no further detail. Does this mean it’s in adjudication or somewhere else?

Yes.

Sorry I couldn’t resist :slight_smile: But the fact is, it is somewhere past the investigation stage, at least past the stage that the one investigator had to complete. That person may or may not have been aware of other pieces waiting to come back.

And you can sit in adjudication for a long, long time. Could be due to questionable behavior or waiting for all parties to review material. Or whatever. I have people in adjudication now for 2 years.
