Did you apply for a job that needed a FS Poly? If so, was that accepted too?
Yes, I applied to a position requiring a FS Poly. They havenât said anything about my poly being accepted, but Iâm assuming I wouldnât be scheduling an indoc date without it.
For reference, my poly with the MD agency was in October, so fairly recent.
I had a contractor (well-known company and I had applied for a role months ago) reach out to set up an interview and then say they needed to verify everything - clearance, poly, etc. - with the MD agency before they would even talk to me. Sounded sketchy to me so I bowed out⌠interesting to read your experience because it partly confirms my thoughts at the time that they were just bench-building or trying to hit recruitment numbers.
Hello everyone, sorry for going off-topic, but I was recently placed on the Cleared Candidate List (CCL). My suitability process was successfully completed on the same day. Does this mean my adjudication is done and I have been granted clearance, even if itâs not officially recognized yet? Also, can I apply for other clearance-required jobs stating that I have clearance, since my background investigation is complete and I only need a job to activate it?
Iâm on the CCL as well and have been applying for contractor jobs stating that I was cleared by the agency. Doesnât seems to be any issues with them locating the clearance.
Have you asked the POC who helped you get the clearance if itâs been adjudicated? The CSO or even someone at HR can easily look in JPAS for you
No worries, donât think youâre off-topic⌠thatâs why weâre all here unfortunately lol
Yes.
You should be good if you apply to contractor jobs at that agency. It gets a little more complicated if you try to use it somewhere else because that would require reciprocity and three-letters can be weird about that.
Will IC contracting companies be affected by the current government situation? Or are those jobs still safe to apply to?
Some will, undoubtedly. But I predict that all this uncertainty will lead to more government employees turning in their blue badges, which will lead to more shortages, which may lead to more demand for contractors⌠as baffling as that sounds, considering the gov will have to shell out more.
I asked my recruiter and he only said Iâve successfully completed my âsuitability processâ.
That sounds like a lazy response. If you take it at face value, it sounds like you passed suitability but have not been adjudicated yet. Can you ask anyone else? Try asking the CSO that submitted your package. The recruiter cannot submit it. It has to be a security officer who you should have spoken to before your package was submitted.
I think in Wayneâs situation, they may have been applying for and processing for a CIV position directly with the agency.
What youâre describing sounds very common and true with CTR positions, say via a company.
Hey! I was wondering if you had heard anything back regarding your job offer! Hope all is well!
Sorry I have been away for a bit and havenât checked this. I have not heard anything yet.
Hey all. I am trying to evaluate my chances of making it into the NSA. So far, I hold a CJO, but I have been waiting for the security clearance process for almost 10 months with no updates so far. (I think we are all going to TS/SCI clearance here).
I really need this job as I am quite desperate to get my life started, but I dread the thought that its genuinely might be over. If I were to get in, it would be in the CS research field, but I just wanted to see if I get any opinions if I should assume I am just completely out of luck.
Ten months is not the fastest timeline for getting cleared but nowhere near the longest. I think all the uncertainty about hiring freezes and whatnot may be a greater concern.
Until they say otherwise, youâre still in the running.
Have you done the poly yet?
Continue looking for other work. You donât want to be stressed about finding a job when they call you in for your poly and interviews. If your process goes for over a year, make a congressional inquiry.
You probably still have a while to go. If youâre hard up for a job, this might not be the best option. Even if you get it, it will be a while before you start working and collecting any paychecks.
So far, nothing. Iâve submitted paperwork with my details and history and it has been approved. No word on poly or interview yet. I keep seeing people around me having a faster timeline and its a little frustrating.
