I’ve been with Paragon since they were SCIS back in 2017 and I absolutely love working for them. We never heard word that we were denied the contract just that our bid was evaluated improperly and that’s why there is a bid protest. I hope we don’t lose the contract cause I really don’t want to go somewhere else
It’s ride or die with Paragon for me. Just accepted an offer with them knowing everything that might happen. If the only companies left in this game are the atrocities of keypoint and caci, I am going to find a new career.
I would not recommend Caci to my worst enemy. Awful place to work, but from what I’ve heard they pay the best. They recently gave L3 and 4’s huge pay raises but it’s only a matter of time before they adjust the metrics to make them do more work.
I cannot emphasize this enough, CACI is horrible. Find a new line of work if you can, but I know that’s easier said than done.
I had an offer from Peraton. They “seemed” much more reasonable, transparent and seem to treat people better, but lower pay. Every Peraton investigator I contacted seemed to be happy. If you ask any CACI investigator, they are all miserable or are lying. So my advice, if CACI and Peraton win the contract, go with Peraton, go IC or leave this work all together.
I along with many was laid off in November 2020 from GDIT. The rest were thinned out in 2021.
Seconded a thousand percent.
Are Peraton Investigators happy with the company and confident that they will get the rebid?
I’m happy with Peragon, however you can’t believe anythng that anyone says in this industry. I heard the same story from GDIT when they were in the same boat. “everthing is fine, it looks good, don’t worry…blah blah blah” And then sure enough, got laid off. I hope for the best.
I just accepted an offer from them as well. When did you accept your offer? Reason I ask is because I accepted mine on July 7, and I have not heard anything since or had any follow up emails for onboarding, e-QIP, etc. Starting to wonder if they are waiting for an answer before they get me going.
Don’t let any vendor lie to you about pay. The CACI L3 and L4 pay raises were because the new contract has pay levels that are required. Do your research, it’s all online, someone might be willing to pay you more, but the minimums are the same. SAM.gov
I just started with Paragon about a month ago and the communication and onboarding process has been very disorganized. Hang in there!
I have not seen the Level I through IV descriptions since USIS days.
I have seen contract companies try to claim investigators were only Level II when in fact they were doing Level IV - “source units” doesn’t determine the investigator level - the complexity of cases determine the level.
In case anyone has any doubts, Level I through iV roughly correspond with the GG7, 9, 11, and 12 levels.
CACI and ??? were awarded the contract?
No one has been awarded the contract.
But two companies have clearly been planned to be awarded the contract, that’s arguing semantics
My take is that only CACI is proclaiming victory (though, now, slightly less loudly). Peraton has been pretty quiet. Of course, we now know that SCIS/Paragon has filed a pre-award protest which means ???. Yes, there will be 2 prime companies with the award at some point. I am not making any changes right now, but everyone’s situation is different.
SCIS/paragon lost the contract. Heard it from a reliable source today. That is why they filed protest. No one wins protests with GAO
Your source is not reliable.
We will see. I wouldn’t have posted this information if it was gossip.
This makes sense. We know the big dogs CACI and Peraton (KGS) were never going to lose the contract. They are machines as much as we dislike them.
I don’t feel sorry for Paragon upper level and middle management on the DCSA contract. I do feel sorry for the Investigators if this is true. Paragon is primarily made up of old USIS middle and senior management that made USIS what it used to be…a corrupt company with lying scoundrels leading the company. Good riddance to the dead weight in middle and senior management at Paragon.
Bid protests are won quite frequently. In regards to CACI, they have already lost other contracts after bid protests were made. They also won contracts after they protested a bid. This just reinforces the fact that nobody has been or will be awarded the contract until the entire process is complete -including the inevitable appeals to the Federal Claims Court regardless of how the protest goes.
