Ok… cool.
@backgdinvestigator, I don’t know if I’ve ever asked. Are you with DCSA?
Ok… cool.
@backgdinvestigator, I don’t know if I’ve ever asked. Are you with DCSA?
yes, I am one of “them”.
@backgdinvestigator, well, I’m one of “them” with you now…lol
Welcome to the elite gold badge club, you can now sit in your ivory tower and coast. You’ll never work another day in your life. Lol
@fed-investigator, I don’t know if I should be laughing at this or not….lol.
it is the perception of those around us.
I have worked both sides of the door and the work is similar. There good and not so fun processes on both sides of that door.
You will have to excuse my poor attempt at humor.
@fed-investigator, no it’s fine. I often find people laughing AT me, as opposed to with me anyways…lol.
@looking4help, how you liking things so far?
@looking4help, this is an amazing response! I would follow you leading the way!
I can’t believe how long this thread has become. It’s exciting to look back at all the folks that began this amazing journey and seeing where they are now. For us fledgling investigators revving up for January 18th’s academy; congratulations! I know having a “Virtual Academy” kinda takes some of the excitement out of meeting future colleagues in a brick and mortar setting; however, for those of you in Virginia and the NCR please feel free to reach out to me. From what I’ve heard the first year is the most challenging and having colleagues you can lean on might be of real value. Hope to see some of you soon. Have a great night!
Alaskaic,
I am having so much fun. Firstly, I know that my experience may not be everyone else’s experience that is new to DCSA or that has been around for a good long while. I must have hit the lottery because everyone I have had to work with has been over the top helpful and encouraging. My coach is top notch and has instilled a considerable amount of confidence. As for leadership; I could not ask for better. There is no sense of pressure and a ton of support, warmth and a heaping amount of encouragement. I can’t wait to be in the academy and feel the actual weight of my own cases and feedback from coaches, colleagues and leadership. I’m ready for the challenge and not too awestruck to think this wont be hard and frustrating at times. Please reach out to me anytime and good luck!
@looking4help, I’m inspired by your message and feel I would have the same feelings. I submitted my resume a few weeks ago and waiting to hopefully get an interview. For anyone in this space, it is a long time coming to try and get on board with the feds. I’ll let you know how it plays out for me and if I make it to the other side, we’ll be comrades!
I’m in my last week of NEX and now just hearing that our academy doesn’t start until March.
Glad to hear that you’re enjoying it!!!
Hey everyone, glad I found this forum. I recently accepted a TO for the position of Investigator. I submitted my drug screen last week. I have a question regarding background. I recently had a T5 investigation completed for another agency. Would DCSA accept it or would I have to have another one done, just curious.
Normally, the recent investigation will be accepted by DCSA - especially if it were conducted by DCSA.
What is your SAC having you do until your training starts?
Ok thanks! Is there anything I need to do to make them aware of my already completed background?
Tell the hiring folks the who and when about the investigation.
@backgdinvestigator … right now… I’m just shadowing different agents until the academy starts in March. While also attempting to get ALL my equipment set up — which has been a pain.
